BUCKTOWN

Bucktown is bordered by Ashland to the East, Damen to the West, North Avenue on the South and Fullerton to the North. During the 18th century, “bucks” prevailed in the area and did much of the field work during that time. As a result, the area became known as Bucktown. Today, Bucktown is known for being artsy and for good reason. In August it hosts the Annual Bucktown Arts Fest and in September the Round the Coyote Art Festival. There are several independent clothing stores in the neighborhood as well as many up and coming restaurants. Housing in Bucktown is mostly comprised of single family homes, condominiums, lofts, brownstones, and two and three flats. The area is accessible through the Blue Line and CTA buses.
