EAST VILLAGE

East Village is a charming west side neighborhood encompassing brownstones and modern style buildings. It was originally settled by European immigrants, and by the late 1800’s, the area was primarily populated by working-class Polish residents. Today, modern homes sit next to 100 year old courtyard buildings and vintage walkups. Shopping in East Village is superb with many boutiques, music, and fashion establishments throughout the area. Eateries include organic pizza, sushi, Mexican restaurants, and vegetarian establishments. There are several parks within East Village, including Eckhart Park which has an indoor swimming pool. In the summer residents can enjoy several outdoor festivals.
