LOGAN SQUARE
Logan Square is named after General John A. Logan who served in the Civil War and later in Congress. It is best known for its wide, tree-lined boulevards filled with mansions and apartment buildings. In the center of Kedzie, Logan Boulevard, and Milwaukee Avenue is a traffic circle with a monument honoring the Illinois Centennial. There has been a boom in recent years with younger residents moving from Wicker Park and Lakeview. For entertainment there is the Congress Theatre and Logan Theatre which previews Blockbusters for just five dollars per person. There is the Logan Square Farmers Market which has food from local restaurants as well as fresh fruits and vegetables from June through October. Logan Square is in between Downtown and Midway Airport and is just twenty minutes from Downtown Chicago. It is accessible through the Blue Line and the Kennedy Expressway. There is great shopping on Damen and Armitage and great late night bowling at Diversey Rock and Bowl.
