UPTOWN

Uptown was once known as the haven of the infamous Al Capone.  He and his crew frequented the Riviera, Green Mill, and Aragon back in the roaring twenties.  In Fact, Machine Gun Kelly owned the Green Mill and all throughout Uptown there are underground passageways that were used for smuggling prohibited alcohol as well as an escape route in case of a police raid.  Today, the Aragon, Green Mill, and Riviera are still functioning at high capacity drawing local and big name acts from all over the country.  The main strip is located on Broadway where there are many restaurants and shops.  For great breakfast check out the Pancake House and for good old ribs and burgers check out Uptowns Pizza and Barbeque.   In the summer check out Foster Beach and for extreme sports enthusiasts there is a skate park as well. There are several Red Line trains that stop frequently in Uptown as well as plenty of CTA buses.  Homes range from high-rise buildings, singly family homes, and two and three flats.
